This year’s “2017 Lublin Voivodeship Athlete of the Year” was awarded by Dziennik Wschodni to “Pogoń” Mostostal Puławy cyclist Filip Maciejuk. The poll conducted on the pages of Dziennik Wschodni also selected the best coach and Popular Sports Teams Olympic Hopeful of the Year. The winners were announced and awarded during the official Gala held at the Victoria hotel in Lublin.

Filip Maciejuk won with almost 2000 points, a considerable margin over second place Daniel Jeleniewski (Speed Car Motor Lublin), who amassed 1139 points. Górnik Łęczna footballer Ewelina Kamczyk came in third with 732 points. Filip Maciejuk collected the commemorative cup from Lublin Voivodeship Marshal Sławomir Sosnowski and Dziennik Wschodni Editor-in-Chief Krzysztof Wiejak in person.

Adam Wojewódka, the coach of “Pogoń” Mostostal Puławy, received a commemorative statuette and congratulations. “Pogoń” Mostostal Puławy Chairman Tadeusz Rybak collected the award for first place in the category of Popular Sports Teams Athlete of the Year on behalf of Daniel Staniszewski.
