An official opening of the 2011 racing season took place in Sobótka on Sunday, April 3rd 2011. The best Polish cyclists were competing on the course around Sobótka. Leading professional groups from both Poland and abroad showed up. The race was held on the circular course: Sobótka-Strzegomiany-Będkowice-Księgienice-Świątniki-Nasławice-Sobótka. The start and finish were located at St. Anne’s Street (by the stadium)Races were held in all age groups for both women and men.
Mostostal team members can be very satisfied with their performance in Sobótka. Cyclists wearing blue colors were riding very ambitiously and they were practically the only team that could be seen among the orange shirts at the head of the race.
Michał Podlaski and Grzegorz Haba are those who deserve special praise. The members of a team from Puławy shall be given a clap, for they were participating in the critical action and they were fighting to the very last meters. Haba’s victory in the junior classification and Podlaski’s fourth place in the elite category shall be considered a very good performance, taking into account that this is just the beginning of racing in Poland.
